My expectation was different from what I got, but what I got is a very useful PC device. I edit sound files on my laptop and needed an external sound card. This baby is worth every penny I paid for it. I'm glad I bought it.

Contacted the manufacture regarding the missing Microphone Boost for Windows XP
The person I spoke with other the phone was cool and made it a point to resolve the issue.
This was on Friday.
Today (Monday) I get in a reply from their so-called tech support personal, with the following:

after testing the USB sound card there is no mic boost.

I am sorry, this is not acceptable.
I am willing to put money on it that this idiot simply hooked the card into their XP machine and saw that it was not there and left it at that.

Very easy to fix the issue.
Contact the SOFTWARE Developer and get them to fix the Microphone Boost option in Windows XP, it is in Windows 7, why not in Windows XP.

I DO NOT recommend this item to no one; rather it is Windows 7 or Windows XP users.
As if they are not willing to resolve this simple issue, imagine what they are not willing to do with other issues.

Purchase at your own risk, this is going back.

We're very happy with how this device is functioniing. I just wish that the software CD that was included with the device included software for Mac OSX. When you go to Diamond's website, there is no option to download the driver for a Mac.

It's functioning well now, but I wonder what special features I'm missing out on...
